Professional and Community teachers
Parlazo has two kinds of teacher, and students can filter by either. Neither is "better" — they suit different learners.
Professional teachers
For teachers with formal qualifications or classroom experience — a teaching certificate (CELTA, TEFL, DELE examiner, a degree in the language or in education), or years of professional teaching. Professional teachers tend to attract exam students and learners who want structure.
When you apply as Professional, add a short note about your credentials so our reviewer can confirm the badge.
Community teachers
For fluent and native speakers who teach conversationally. No formal certificate required — what matters is that you can help someone become comfortable and confident speaking. Community teachers are often exactly what a learner who "just wants to practise talking" is looking for.
Which should you pick?
Choose the one that honestly describes you. You can hold the Professional badge only if you have credentials to back it — our reviewer checks. If in doubt, start as Community; you can be reclassified later once you add documentation.
